Will I be included in any registers?

Yes, registers with information about patients are kept in healthcare activities. Among other things, medical records are kept for each patient. The information is primarily intended to ensure that the patient receives the best possible care. In general, you have the right to read your medical records and those of your children.

There are also quality registers in which healthcare providers throughout Sweden register information about patients, different treatments and treatment results. This information is collated and used to improve healthcare. You can talk to your therapist if you want to know which quality register may be applicable in your case or if you don't want to be included in a quality register.

Healthcare is bound by strict confidentiality as regards information about an individual's state of health and other personal circumstances. This means that the information in your medical records – with a few exceptions – may only be disclosed with your consent.
