Can medical records be blocked?
Parents can't block their child's medical records. The reason is that healthcare staff shall more easily be able to discover if a child or an adolescent is being harmed. This is described in the Patient Data Act, which places greater emphasis on child protection than personal integrity.
Patients who are legal adults are entitled to block their own medical records. If you are under 18 years of age you're not entitled to do this, although older teenagers can ask for a maturity assessment. We then assess whether you should be entitled to block your medical records.
